Notification Hub - Unified Channel Management

The Notification Hub provides a single, centralized view of all your notification channels and how they’re configured across your status pages. Instead of jumping between multiple pages to see which channels are active where, you can now see everything at a glance.

Notification Hub matrix view

What is the Notification Hub?

The Notification Hub is a matrix-style overview that shows:

  • All your configured notification channels (rows)
  • All your status pages (columns)
  • Which channels are enabled for which status pages (matrix cells)

This makes it easy to:

  • Quickly see your notification coverage across all status pages
  • Identify gaps in notification configuration
  • Verify that critical channels are enabled
  • Check verification status for all channels

Accessing the Notification Hub

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Click Notification Hub in the Configuration section of the left menu
  3. Or navigate directly to /user/notifications/hub

Understanding the Matrix View

Channel Column (Left)

Each row represents a notification channel:

  • Channel Name: The name you gave the channel
  • Type Badge: Shows the channel type (email, Discord, Slack, Telegram, webhook)
  • Verification Status:
    • ✓ Green checkmark = verified and working
    • ⚠ Yellow warning = unverified (may not deliver reliably)

Status Page Columns

Each column represents one of your status pages. Click the status page name to jump directly to that page’s notification settings.

Matrix Cells

Each cell shows whether a channel is enabled for a specific status page:

  • Green badge with checkmark (✓): Channel is enabled for this status page
  • Gray badge with dash (−): Channel is disabled for this status page

Managing Notification Channels

Adding a New Channel

  1. Click Manage Channels at the top of the page
  2. This takes you to the channel configuration page
  3. Click Add Channel and select the type
  4. Configure the channel details
  5. Return to the Notification Hub to see it in the matrix

Configuring Channel-Status Page Relationships

To enable or disable a channel for a specific status page:

  1. Click the status page name in the matrix header
  2. You’ll be taken to that page’s notification settings
  3. Check or uncheck the channels you want to use
  4. Save your changes
  5. Return to the hub to verify the changes

Quick Tips Panel

The hub includes helpful tips:

  • Green badges mean the channel is active for that status page
  • Click a status page name to configure its notifications
  • Unverified channels may not deliver notifications reliably — make sure to verify them

The Quick Links section provides direct access to:

  • Manage Notification Channels: Add, edit, or remove channels
  • Individual Status Page Notifications: Jump to notification settings for each specific status page

Common Use Cases

Audit Notification Coverage

Quickly scan the matrix to ensure all critical status pages have:

  • At least one verified email channel
  • SMS or Slack for high-priority pages
  • Webhook integrations for automation

Verify Channel Status

Check the verification column to identify:

  • Unverified email channels that need confirmation
  • Slack or Discord integrations that may have disconnected
  • Webhook channels that haven’t been tested

Bulk Planning

Before adding a new team member:

  1. Create their email notification channel
  2. Use the matrix to decide which status pages they should receive alerts for
  3. Configure each status page as needed

Empty States

No Channels Configured

If you haven’t set up any notification channels yet, you’ll see a prompt to add your first channel. Click Add Notification Channel to get started.

No Status Pages

If you haven’t created any status pages yet, you’ll see a prompt to create one. Notifications require at least one status page to work with.

Best Practices

DoDon’t
Review the hub regularly to audit your notification setupAssume channels are enabled without checking
Verify all channels and fix any warningsLeave unverified channels in place
Use the matrix to ensure critical pages have redundant channelsRely on a single notification channel for important pages
Check the hub after adding new team members or pagesConfigure notifications blindly without overview

  • Channel Types: Email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, webhooks, SMS
  • Per-Page Configuration: Each status page can use different channels
  • Verification: All channels should be verified to ensure delivery
  • Quiet Hours: Configure when notifications should not be sent (per-channel)
